Craniosacral Therapy as a therapeutic modality
Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy (BCST) is valuable as a therapeutic model on many levels; physically, mentally, emotionally, spiritually, and on a soul level. Creating a safe space and listening to a person is already a beneficial therapeutic practice. BCST gives a person’s whole being a chance to settle and express themselves, and as practitioners we have learnt to cultivate a wide, grounded field to help facilitate this.
In BCST we engage with the Central Nervous System through light, gentle touch, and we are helping balance the Autonomic Nervous System, which in turn supports and resources the person’s system to heal itself. Rather than seeking out dis-ease, we look to connect to health in the person, which leads to the inherent treatment plan unfolding. I think this is one of the greatest values of BCST; that we don’t diagnose clients with labels of dis-ease to fix, we’re able to be present with whatever arises in a session and encourage healing and the best expression of health.
For me the deepest value in BCST is that it can be incredibly empowering for a person to remember their connection to their being and find and feel safety in themselves, rather than needed to constantly be seeking it externally.
BCST can resolve inertial patterns in the body and wider field, by working with subtle energies, but also by the practitioner having an awareness of the intricacies and complexities of human anatomy which allows for communication with other modalities too.
